Your adventure begins with an exhilarating ATV ride through the breathtaking Knik River Valley, crossing braided rivers, glacial terrain, and rugged backcountry trails on your way to the iceberg filled lake at the toe of the Knik Glacier. Once you arrive, gear up with a dry suit and choose between a stand-up paddleboard or inflatable kayak before launching onto the glacier-fed lake. Paddle among floating icebergs, take in panoramic views of ancient blue ice, the vast glacier & towering mountain peaks. With expert guides leading the way, this unforgettable adventure combines off-road exploration with an experience few people ever have the chance to enjoy.

Upon arriving at the glacier, you’ll step into a peaceful setting unlike anywhere else in Alaska.
Relax inside an authentic wood-fired sauna while taking in panoramic views of ancient blue ice, towering mountain peaks, and floating icebergs. When you’re ready, experience the invigorating contrast of an optional cold plunge in the glacier-fed lake before returning to the warmth of the sauna. Inspired by generations of Nordic tradition, alternating between hot and cold creates a one-of-a-kind experience that combines adventure, relaxation, and wellness in one of Alaska’s most spectacular settings.

Alaska Backcountry Adventure Tours proudly provides the NEWEST and easily one of the LARGEST ATV/UTV fleets in Alaska. With BRAND NEW machines every year, you can count on a reliable, safe and comfortable adventure. Every tour also includes all the gear you will need to keep you comfortable on the trail!
UTV or ATV
You’ll be riding our brand new Can-Am machines. We have UTV’s that seat 4 or 6 as well single person ATV’s
Helmet & Goggles
In the summer you’ll also be provided with a dust mask to help keep dust and mud off your face!
Jacket & Rain Pants
On our tours you’ll be cruising through water, also it’s Alaska so it might be raining. We provide all rain gear to ensure you stay dry!
Boots & Gloves
Your hands and feet are important. We’ll make sure they stay dry and warm through all the adventuring!

Requirements
No Age Restrictions for Sauna & Polar Plunge.
You must be 13 years or older for the paddling adventure. Additionally for Paddling Guests must be at least 60 inches (152 cm) tall and weigh a minimum of 90 pounds (41 kg) to participate.
Reservation Policy
Due to limited capacity, advance reservations are highly recommended. If booking by phone, a credit card is required to confirm and hold your reservation at time of booking. Payment is due upon check-in at our office. We accept cash, check, Visa, M/C , American Express or Discover. Cancel up to 30 days prior to tour date with no penalty.
Guide Gratuity
Guide gratuities are not included in the tour price. Tipping is not expected but it is very much appreciated. Our guides work hard to ensure a safe & fun adventure for for all our guests! If you feel you’ve received a 5 star experience we hope you’ll consider showing your appreciation!
Round trip Transportation is available
Round trip transportation between Anchorage and our Palmer office is available for an additional $240 for up to 5 People.
