Explore the Famous Iditarod Trail!
This snowmobile tour will take you out to explore some of Alaska's most incredible and scenic backcountry along the Iditarod Trail for an entire day. Prepare to see Alaska and winter like you have never seen it before!
Head into the backcountry with our expert snowmobile guides on a full-day tour into the depths of Alaska’s wilderness! Once you have checked in at our office in Palmer (just one hour north of Anchorage) you can relax and enjoy the ride as our experienced guides take you to their favorite Alaskan playgrounds, some of the best snowmobiling to be found in Alaska’s backcountry. You’ll make a stop midday for a delicious, hot Alaskan lunch at a local roadhouse before hitting the trail again to do more exploring in the afternoon. Later in the day when the sun is nearing its dip below the horizon, you’ll make another stop to soak up more of the incredible scenery before your guide leads you back towards town.
Transportation from Anchorage to our office in Palmer is available for $50 per person.
Check In: Clients will be met at our tour office by our guide staff upon arrival. Clients will be outfitted with snow boots, full snowmobile suit, gloves and a helmet. Once clients have signed a standard liability release form and fully suited up, we will transport them from our tour office to the snowmobile tour trailhead. If you do not have your own transportation to our office in Palmer, we can arrange that for you.
Orientation: At the snowmobile trailhead, we will provide a 15-minute safety briefing and orientation to snowmobiling. Topics covered will be proper operation of the snowmobile, general safety information, what to expect while on the tour route, procedures for possible wildlife encounters, and information on proper snowmobile riding techniques.
Inclusions: Snowmobile tour pricing includes snow boots, snowsuit, helmet, gloves, transfer to trailhead from our office, orientation to snowmobile operation and safety information, guided snowmobiling, fuel & oil, friendly patient guide services throughout the entire trip. Guide gratuities are not included in tour price. (Note: clients are financially responsible for physical damage they may cause to the snowmobile due to careless or negligent operation).
Reservations: Due to limited capacity, advance reservations are required. A credit card is required to confirm and hold your reservation at time of booking. Payment is due upon check-in at our office prior to tour departure and may be handled with cash, Visa, or MasterCard. 50% deposit is required for all multi day excursions. A 100% cancellation fee will be charged if reservation is cancelled within 30 days of departure.
Transportation: Round trip transportation between Anchorage and our Palmer office is available for an additional $50 per person, (minimum of 4). Please call our office for pickup times and additional transfer information.
Physical Limitations: It is not necessary that clients have previous snowmobiling experience prior to participating in one of our tours. Riding a snowmobile, as a general rule is more challenging than driving a car because it requires coordinated physical input such as leaning and moving on the seat to assist the snowmobile in turning. Drivers need to be prepared to heed the advice of their guide and use their body to be actively involved with the steering and driving of the snowmobile for proper operation. Please note that the maximum amount of weight a double-rider snowmobile can accommodate is a total of 300 pounds for both participants. If the clients combined weight is over 300 pounds, we recommend they ride single.
We look forward to working with you. Please call our office at 907-783-7669 or email for additional information or clarification. Thank you!
